APPOINTMENT DAY.

Dentist cleaning, night guard impressions and eye doctor all in one day.

I always like having my appointments all in one day (especially because of work) just to get them done and over with. So it was time for my teeth cleaning and NO cavities (: Not a huge surprise because I brush my teeth at least three times a day, including mouth wash and flossing once per day. I guess that's what you get for working at an orthodontics office for three years! Very good teeth hygiene!

It was a quick clean and then I had to get the impression for my night guard! Last year I sprained my jaw and a month later re-ripped my torn jaw muscle when getting my wisdom teeth out so ever since then I have had horrible TMJ. What happens is when I sleep I clench my jaw shut the entire night and when I wake up I have lock jaw and pretty bad headaches /: And the pain in my jaw can stay for awhile so I am so glad I am finally getting this guard! It was crazy expensive though! Thank goodness for insurance! My appointment started at 10:50 and I had to be outta there by 11:45 if I wanted to be on time to my eye appointment. I booked it it all the way from Choklov, down fourth plain, and back down 164th to my eye appointment and actually showed up early! I was so excited because I am finally getting contacts (: I wear my glasses but they're such a hassle it'll be nice to just have them in my eyes rather than on my face! Turns out my lens is a bit more expensive (here we go again..) because I need a progressive lens (who knows what that really means, but apparently it's rare for young people to need it?). Then I had to go through learning how to put them in and take them out and clean them and all the fun stuff. Finally I learned that I can't use regular saline to clean my contacts every night!!! I have issues... So I now have alcohol based cleaner that coverts to water while cleaning my lens and if I put them in my eyes any earlier than six hours than the alcohol will burn my eyes! /: yay me! But it's still worth it. I am so grateful for my night guard and contacts and can not wait for the guard (I get it next week)!

So after my expensive day of learning all the problems I have with my eyes and jaw, I finally got home! To end my crazy day I went biking seven miles with my bf and am spending the rest of the night eating a little pizza and having movie/game night at the Nelsons (: Couldn't have gone better!

WHAT COMES NEXT...

Well. I did it. I finally made a blog! Really I wanted to make one because I am about to start my adult life which means college! It's crazy to think I am at that step in my life already but I am ready for it. My Lucky Penny is my way to never forget these next few years. To always remember my new jobs, moving, college life, new friends and SO much more I'm sure. What I really loved was naming my blog :P  Anytime I have seen a penny that wasn't heads up, I have flipped it over for some other person to find for good luck! I don't know why but even if it's not real, I'd still like to believe that a penny heads up means good luck.

Anyways, college. So far it has been pretty stressful figuring everything out. For those who don't know, I am horrible at making decisions. I'm timid because I definitely do not want to make the wrong choice! I think picking housing almost caused a heart attack! I was looking/researching for a good two weeks before I finally made a decision...haha I swear it's not procrastination. Hopefully as all my plans get settled in I will feel more at ease and will finally be able to relax! I am looking forward to go check out the dorms I am gonna be living in! I am going to take my mom with me sometime in september to check um out! Plus, it would be nice to have a second opinion (:

As for $$....right now I work at Pier 1 Imports! I totally love it and the store! I could definitely spend a good amount of my paycheck there if I didn't have to pay for college! I work a good 20 hours a week plus these past sunday nights we have had work from 7pm-3am for our store seasonal changes! Yup! We already have alllll our halloween stuff out! Costumer service is #1! I have to talk to EVERY customer and make sure they are finding everything okay, tell them about out pier 1 card and talk about seasonal/store sales and clearances. I like the customers that like some opinion on decorating their house because I am pretty good at it! I think the craziest thing that has happened so far is Michaels (the store) called Animal Control on a car in front of Pier 1 because it was 100 degrees out and there was a dog left inside of the car for more than an hour! We announced it over our intercom to see if the owner of the car was in our store, just in case. Well, the lady that we were checking out freaked out and was saying that if it were her she would break into the car and "steal that poor puppy from that devil of an owner". She went on a rant for awhile saying things like "what kind of person does that" and "we should lock her in a car and see how she feels"....needless to say she was kinda nuts. She left and my co-worker and I thought it was all over BUT about ten minutes later another lady walked into the store. She came up to us and asked if we had surveillance on our parking lots or had police monitoring the area. We said no. WELL, heres the crazy part ladies and gents.... she continues on to say...wait for it....someone shattered her window and STOLE HER DOG! And we all knew who it was.... Her face was totally blank and her eyes started to water :( I felt horrible! Now we always watch out for that one window breaking, dog stealing customer but she hasn't been in since.

For a little extra cash I am applying for a second job. I don't want to but I also don't want to be short on cash in college. I save everything now. Shopping has always been a horrible addiction but you'd be glad to know I haven't bought anything in a whole month and a half now! Hopefully schedules will all work out and I will have one less thing to worry about! As of now I am happy with present plans and am hoping for the best in my future!
